Daley Mohan Groble Announces Promotions and Hirings

DMG is pleased to announce that Mary McCahill and Johner T. Wilson III have been promoted to Partner and Tyler Ferguson and Michael Shumate have joined the firm as Associate Attorneys. "The promotions recognize the excellent work done by both Mary and Johner, and allow us to deepen our bench strength, continue to serve our clients, and further develop our practice", noted Dan Mohan, Co-Managing Partner. Coincidentally Ms McCahill and Mr. Wilson were graduates in the same year from DePaul University College of Law.

Ms. McCahill has been with Daley Mohan Groble since 2011. She concentrates on the litigation practice and is noted for her trial experience. She defends FELA suits, including catastrophic injuries and grade crossing accidents. Prior to joining DMG, Ms McCahill worked for the City of Chicago's Law Department where she defended Chicago police officers in a variety of high-exposure civil lawsuits. She has tried over 10 jury trials in both federal and state court and dozens of bench trials. She earned her law degree and undergraduate degree from DePaul University.

Mr. Wilson joined Daley Mohan Groble in 2009 in the litigation practice. He has first chair trial experience and handles business and casualty litigation for municipal, railroad, and commercial clients. Johner was selected as one of six attorneys across the nation to serve on the Young Lawyers Executive Advisory Board of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. Prior to joining DMG, he worked as an associate attorney at Albert Whitehead, P.C. Johner earned his law degree at DePaul University and holds an undergraduate degree from University of Illinois at Chicago.

New Hires

Michael Shumate is a trial attorney focused on casualty and commercial litigation for a number of railroads and other corporate clients. His practice area also extends to transactional, regulatory, and probate matters. He joined Daley Mohan Groble as a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. While there, he clerked for Union Pacific Railroad Company's Law Department. Mr. Shumate holds an undergraduate degree from Colorado State University.

Tyler Ferguson practices commercial, insurance, labor, and tort litigation for Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 clients and small businesses in state and federal court. He also regularly manages creditors' rights and bankruptcy matters. Prior to joining Daley Mohan Groble, he clerked for the Hon. Mary Gorman, Chief Judge, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of Illinois. Mr. Ferguson earned his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2011 and was an editor of the Elder Law Journal. He received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Elmhurst College in 2008.
