Daley Mohan Groble, P.C., a nationally recognized law firm providing comprehensive litigation, employment, real estate and environmental counseling to public and private clients, today announced that Pamela Nehring, former Senior General Attorney to BNSF Railway Company, has joined the firm as partner and leader of the firm's Environmental Practice Group.

Nehring brings 25 years of diverse environmental counseling and litigation experience to her new position.

Prior to joining Daley Mohan Groble, Nehring spent 19 years with BNSF Railway Company where she was lead in-house environmental counsel in the case of Burlington Northern, et al, v. United States, et al. The case was ultimately decided by the United States Supreme Court, which ruled unanimously in favor of the railroads. In addition to environmental litigation, her responsibilities included compliance, transactional and remediation counseling in 28 states and two Canadian provinces.

"We are thrilled that Pam has joined the firm with so many years of experience leading the environmental efforts of one of the country's largest companies," said Partner Daniel Mohan.

Before working at BNSF Railway Company, Nehring practiced law at Gardner Carton & Douglas, now Drinker Biddle, in Chicago.

Nehring will lead the Environmental Practice Group with a focus on regulatory compliance and transactional counseling, auditing, permitting real estate development projects, enforcement actions, toxic tort, remediation claims and litigation.

"With Daley Mohan Groble's robust litigation experience and real estate practice, we are equipped to provide comprehensive environmental service in the context where environmental matters likely arise or may be resolved," Nehring said.

Nehring was recently invited to chair the Environmental Committee of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. She is also a member of the American Railway Development Association and the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association. She frequently presents at conferences and seminars, most recently on environmental remediation issues at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association regional conferences.

Nehring earned her B.A. from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she was Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and a Mellon Fellow. In connection with her undergraduate degrees, she studied at the University of Munich and Lehrinstitut fuer Russische Sprache in Germany.

"Pam's leadership of our Environmental Practice Group enhances our services for our diverse clients," Partner Raymond Groble said, "and she will undoubtedly attract new clients and industries."
