Kathryn Doi

Kathryn is an experienced trial attorney who currently represents a variety of corporate clients in tort and commercial litigation in FELA, personal injury defense, contract, employment and environmental matters.

Kathryn joined Daley Mohan Groble from the City of Chicago Department of Law, where as Senior Counsel in the Federal Civil Rights Litigation Division, she developed extensive first-chair jury trial experience representing individual City employees who have been sued in the course of their employment duties. She supervised and guided attorneys on litigation and trial strategy, as well as actively litigated her own caseload from inception through resolution.  In almost 11 years of practice at the City, Kathryn tried numerous cases to a jury verdict in the Circuit Court of Cook County and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  She has successfully briefed and argued several high-profile summary judgment motions that resulted in a favorable ruling for her clients, which were all upheld on appeal. Additionally, Kathryn has considerable experience negotiating and obtaining favorable settlements on behalf of her clients and the City.

For the past several years, Kathryn has extended her enjoyment of assisting others with their litigation strategy to her roles as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Northwestern University School of Law, where she teaches Introduction to Trial Advocacy, and as an Adjunct Instructor of Loyola University School of Law's Intensive Trial Practice course.  In these roles, Kathryn offers her trial experience and knowledge to second and third-year law students, as well as teaching American trial practice to international lawyers and law students seeking their LLM certificate.
